It explores cyber trends, threats—along with the broader topic of cybersecurity in a way that will matter to YOU. For instance, you’ll learn how to protect your personal privacy online while gaining additional insight on the challenges companies, and governmental and educational institutions face today. No prerequisites required.

Course length - 12 weeks
Hours - This course includes 7 hours of contact hours per week. This will be divided between; Tuesdays 7pm-9pm, Thursdays 7pm – 9pm and three hours on a Saturday. In the interest of flexibility, the group will establish the Saturday contact hours.
Course fee (including certification) - £250*
50% deposit due Tuesday 6th July 2021**
50% remaining fee due Tuesday 3rd July 2021
One fully funded hardship space will be available to a low income individual. Please identify in your application if you would like to be considered for the hardship position.

About course leader Mark Johnson
Mark is a former United Nations Security Specialist with demonstrated experience in Security Operations, Business Continuity, and Information Security Governance and Compliance. Distinguished for providing effective guidance and recommendations to strengthen the effectiveness of access security controls. Proven history of minimising internal/external cyber-attacks by executing threat scenarios, penetration tests, and security audits. Mark holds numerous technical certifications including ISO27001 Lead Auditor and is an active CISSP and member of The Security Institute in the United Kingdom. He is currently reading Cyber Security at Northumbria University and is an accredited Instructor on the Cisco Networking Academy Program. Expertise: CheckPoint Firewalls and Appliances, Intrusion Detection Systems, Network Infrastructure, Cloud Information Security, Project Management.
